OVERVIEW
Former seat of an empire, crossroads between east and west, Jewish heritage tours to Vienna are one of a kind, rich in history, famous Jewish figures, and well-curated museums in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Until the Holocaust, Vienna had a pulsating and vibrant Jewish world, including dozens of synagogues. Today, many of those Jews who were killed are remembered at the Shoah memorial wall in Ostarrichi Park and the Jewish Museum as well as the Museum Judenplayz.
Visit the subterranean excavation of a medieval synagogue, or see Herzl’s bicycle hanging from the ceiling of a museum. Hints of Jewish life exist in every corner of Vienna, appearing so often you may not even notice them until your tour guide on your Jewish heritage tour of Vienna points them out.
Explore the old Jewish neighborhood of Leopoldstadt, or get to know the community of today on a Jewish heritage tour, consisting now of people who returned after the war, immigrants from places like Uzbekistan and other parts of the former Soviet Union.

After lunch in one of Vienna’s famous Cafés, you will tour Leopold Stadt – known as a former Jewish Quarter. There, we will visit the Jewish Museum, the Museum am Judenplatz (with the subterranean remains of a medieval synagogue), the Holocaust Memorial at Judenplatz and the Memorial against War and Fascism at Albertina Platz.
We will have dinner at the Kunsthistorische Museum where you will be served a 5-course menu. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to discover the museum on your own.

Our tour this morning starts with VIP seats at the Morning Exercise of the world-famous Lipizzaner horses in Spanish Riding School followed by a private tour with a stable guide.
From there, take part in a private backstage tour of the State Opera
Next is the Hofburg Palace complex. Walk among the lavish private living quarters of Empress Elizabeth and Emperor Franz Joseph from the 18th and 19th centuries followed by a walking tour of the 1st district of Vienna.

Shabbat Services at the Stadttempel synagogue followed by Shabbat dinner at Aleph Aleph Kosher restaurant

Visit to the Imperial Apartments in Schönbrunn and strudel tasting in the Schönbrunn Café.
Visit to the Belvedere Palace
Shopping on the famous streets of Vienna Graben, Kärtnerstrasse, and Stefansdom.
